Weird Consciousness Theory

I had a dream months ago in which this idea originally came to me, and since then I've had more dreams in which similar ideas have presented themselves. I'll preface this by saying: no, I don't actually take an idea that came to me in a dream to be gospel, I just thought it was interesting.

So, what was the dream? Essentially, it was normal, everyday life, except you could "see" people's consciousness. It was a transluecent looking stream coming from people's heads and going seemingly endlessly to the sky. Most looked the same, with just slight differences in the stream's color and circumference/thickness between people. It was never explicitly explained that these streams represented the person's consciousness, but in this world I just instinctively knew what it was.

Now, the interesting part was when the day ended (in the dream) and it was time to go to sleep (in the dream). Once dream-me fell asleep, I was transported to a realm of darkness, where at the center of it was a semi-circle at the ceiling (so you could only see the bottom, you couldn't see above the halfway point of it, so either that's where it ends or there was something above it that we just couldn't see). It looked like a white, fiery sun, but wasn't hot. It was the source of where everyone's stream of consciousness was coming from. There were others in this realm that didn't have a stream, who were dead or waiting to be born. They were waiting in a line for their turn to be granted consciousness.

The semi-circle/orb looking thing produced a low hum like it was vibrating, and seemed to neutralize any kind of emotion or thought. Like when you were in its presense, you were no longer yourself.

So the main idea of the dream was that everbody pulls their consciousness from this main "entity," and that we actually are all this entitiy. I don't entirely know what the differences in color or thickness of the streams represented, maybe it was supposed to represent karma? Like if you were good in a past life, you were able to pull more consciousness from the entity? Not sure.

But yea, that was it. Really cool dream, and it's been somewhat of a reoccuring dream so I thought I'd write it down. I haven't looked to see if this is any kind of theory that's alredy been written, or anything from any kind of religion, but would be cool if it was.
